show and tell

I haven't been able to go along to our local village Craft & Produce Show for the last few years. When the children were at school, it was quite an event as they competed for the red "First Prize" tickets and the prizewinners' shields. Last year, I heard that the level of participation was dismal, so D and I decided to Make An Effort and put in some entries.

I ignored the baking section altogether, and put together a selection of eclectic stuff last night and this morning. An object beginning with 'A',  6 Sweet Peas, a fridge magnet, a flower arrangement in a cup and saucer, a knitted article, the longest stick of rhubarb...and so on. We had to have it all on display in the hall with tickets written out by 9.30am.

I walked back to Shawhead this afternoon for a blether and the prize giving. I think the blether was probably the point of it all (but I would say that, wouldn't I).
