Onions
They have to sit out here under cover but open to the breeze until the stalks (which are pushed through the bottom of the tray) go brown and papery and then I can clean them up and either get all fancy and tie them into strings or just put them in a bag in the shed.
Onions (and the garlic behind the tray that you can't see) are probably not the best things to grow. They're cheap and I can't honestly say that they taste better but you can just put them in the ground they don't need much attention so in that sense they're ideal.
