Wild water mint

On a soggy day there is nothing for it but to get out the wellies and walk into the woods along the River Ems where I found these wild water mint buds (Mentha aquatica). There are not that many wild flowers now but these seem to be flourishing along the river's edge.

I think this might be one of the last Wild Flower Weeks and a warm thank you to Miranda for your generous hosting.

After several months away in Spain, our garden is looking like a wild jungle, not just a meadow any longer, so we are hoping for a good day so we can get out and clear a path to the garden shed without being attacked by brambles. Mañana, maybe!
