Face-Lift Coming

Why didn’t we do this years ago?! The answer: We did! We have painted our house, ourselves, three times since we’ve owned it, thirty-six years now. 
This time someone else is doing the work. Nice that, but it’s still an upsetting process. At least this time I won’t hang on to the ladder while Eric stands on it thirty feet in the air, as though that helped anything.
Once, when I was on a ladder, about that many feet off the ground, I disturbed a hornet’s nest and watched (with mouth agape and with both hands gripping the ladder) as an upset hornet zoomed in on my little finger and give it a good sting, all the while remaining perfectly still, then I slowly climbed down and considered calling it a day.
