A time for everything

Villajoyosa

Saturday 27 July
Today we drove east to the charming town of Villajoyosa, just west of Benidorm. The town is famous for its chocolate industry, and we had planned on visiting the Valor Chocolate Museum, but unfortunately we discovered it was full for the rest of the day. So we wandered through the narrow streets of the old town, past all the colourful buildings and old fortifications and made our way to the front. We walked along the front, looking out for possible places for lunch. We eventually chose one, and it was good to find some shade and sit down for a while. We then made a different way back to the car, where we retrieved our swim stuff and headed to the beach. Fortunately, there was a clump of palm trees in one area of the beach, and we managed to find some space in their shade to spend a few hours and go for a cooling swim.
In the evening we went out to a Spanish restaurant. The printed menu was all in Spanish, but fortunately there was some translation online!
