Ok, so I'm going slightly mad - must be the heady back-to-blipping-feeling-after-a-bit-of-a-break.
Spotted these two on the feeder and thought at first they were the usual goldfinches, but a squint through the binoculars put me straight.

A couple of years ago this would have had him running in excitedly to gaze in wonder; tonight it was met with 'Oh ok' as he continued his game on the playstation...
