Friendships

A long-time friend of Peg's came out for a visit today and I had an opportunity to take a few shots of the two of them, two beautiful women.  Peg and Liz have known each other for even longer than Peg and I have been friends.  We three went out for lunch and enjoyed several hours sitting outside, lakeside, enjoying a meal and good conversation.  What a perfectly lovely afternoon.  We came back here and now Liz and Peg are enjoying some time together on our deck while I catch up on some things here.  

In this world where divisions are deep and it often seems that people are being the worst version of themselves, it is nice to have these reminders that the world is full of warm, loving, caring people.  It makes my heart happy to see Peg's friends gathering around her to provide her comfort and strength and love during this very sad time.  

If you went through my entire blip journal spanning 13 years, you would find very few photos of people.  I am not generally comfortable or confident photographing people.  I think I am worried that I won't portray them the way I see them.  But in this instance, I am very happy with some of the photos I took.  And it didn't hurt to have two such beautiful subjects.
