Murron and I drove to Border Berries to pick raspberries and blackcurrants. The drive there is so beautiful. It was hard going as it was incredibly hot and by the time we started to pick the blackcurrants we were having mutinous thoughts of buying some ready picked punnets! We persevered with much giggling and wiping of brows and rewarded ourselves with small tubs of Cream O'Galloway Ice cream. We drove home with music blaring feeling very pleased with our haul. I planned to start making jam straight away, but we had a power cut. We read instead, lying in the sun. I did finally make my jam - 10 pots of blackcurrant Jelly and 6 pots of raspberry jelly :)
