Painted Lady 2

They are so stand-out, particularly in this disappointing butterfly summer, I thought you might forgive me posting a second painted lady.  There's also a shot of it in extras with it's wings closed, just because the undersides are so beautifully designed.

If you're interested, in both it's feeding off field scabious, with a background of wild marjoram.

The majority of my blipping time today has been spent on the butterfly reserve, going to pathless parts of it I don't normally visit in the hopes of seeing different butterflies (and getting out of the wind).  That hope was well and truly dashed on both counts, but I did have a lovely time all the same.

The rest of my day?  A bit of a wash out really, though somehow I've managed to tire myself out good and proper.  I can see it will be an early night tonight.
