Foyer flowers

This beautiful display is in the foyer of the rehab facility where I'm an inpatient. The orchids are cymbidiums. Not sure what the white fluffy ones are but could be Aussie natives.

The usual mealtime practice here is to have food delivered to one's room on a tray and it's pretty good food too. Today we did something different - we attended a Shabbat dinner. A rabbi, who was a real character, undertook and explained the rituals, including washing the hands three times, breaking the plaited bread and tossing salt on it, blessing the wine (before which we couldn't drink any), and each person lighting two candles. The rabbi also sang prayers in Hebrew to go with each stage.

It was all new to me and a cultural treat. It also got us inmates talking to each other.

Thanks for hosting BikerBear. Have a good weekend.
