Louise Bichan and band

Today's highlight was a Sutherland Sessions concert with Louise Bichan and her band. It took place at Rogart Mart (see extra for the lovely setting of the Mart, at dusk during the interval; what the photograph does not show are the midges...). Louise's website mentions that she is a musician and a photographer. She also uses stories - or rather diaries and family reminiscences - in her work. It was an excellent and heart warming concert, in lovely surroundings. Louise continues her mini tour of Scotland from tomorrow onwards.

Also today, I took a "digging break" to do battle with that part of next door's huge bank of leylandii (Cupressus × leylandii) which overhang our back garden. It looks much neater now, and the brown bin is full.

And I thought that I'd "finished" the last bit of writing which I promised (mainly myself; but others were happy to receive my work) I would finish this summer. Maybe it's not finished, though, so I may have to work on it a little more.
