replacement, more plastic bits pinged off earlier today. Finally bought a new one and attached it. Sorted out some bank forms. Arranged a fringe trim. Another busy day but soon Friday. 

Looked into the renewal process for my passport. It is somewhat complicated. I don't think I am able to get a photo place here to do the digital stamp code thing that the British government want. I will find a solution, out would have been easier to get from Scotland but I will find a solution.
