Detail of decoration on a lamp post

When I saw the art nouveau design on this lamp post near Penpol car park in Hayle this afternoon I was astonished. I've parked in Penpol car park many times; I must have walked past these lamp posts hundreds of times. Until today, I have never noticed the design!
