a lifetime burning

Trusting

There are some young pheasants at RSPB Ham Wall, still trailing their Mum around.  The youngsters are already as big as their Mum and were happy foraging amongst the bracken for snails and other tit bits.

They were a little too trusting of humans, and I actually had some difficulty getting this photo.   When I got down on the ground for this shot most of them came over to me to see what the funny man was doing.  Fortunately for them, as long as they stay broadly where they are, then they shouldn't end up being shot at when the pheasant shooting season starts at the beginning of October.
