Experimenting

A sunny but breezy day. I spent the morning drying apples and baking rolls. Both were rather experimental. The apple rings have turned out okay but I think I can improve on them by turning down the temperature of the oven to around 50 degrees centigrade and using wooden dowels to hang the apple rings. I used to make my own bread so was trying to remember my method for baking wholemeal rolls. I added fennel and cumin seeds to the mix which gives a nice flavour. The dough was a little heavy though. I will adjust the recipe and hopefully the next batch of rolls will be better.
