A Local
…………………………..treasure. The town has recently celebrated the 400th birthday of the old bridge over the river Tweed and work is now continuing to repair the mortar and stonework at the town end. Currently closed to both traffic and pedestrians whilst they erect the scaffolding (thumbnail) needed to work from, hopefully all will be completed before the end of the year…it’s a pain in the neck driving through town to get both in and out.
Set my alarm for 8am this morning and tried to do an e-consult through the NHS app to eventually be told it couldn’t help with my ailment and I’d have to ring the GP! Thankfully I got through to a most helpful receptionist and soon had a nurses appointment for late the afternoon. I took the bus over, was seen, prescription dispensed and collected and on my way home within minutes.
I decided to walk home to get my blip (and some steps) as I knew I’d have to cross the new bridge (opened in 1928!] to get to my side of the river and it affords a good view of the old bridge. It’s been a dull, breezy day more reminiscent of autumn than summer…I’ve had to put a jumper on!
Thanks to BobsBlips for continuing to hosting Wide Wednesday.
