secret garden

Greek to me

A very Autumnal day - windy, mizzly, grey and none too warm either. The Heron Gallery keeps optimistic standards - always a fresh vase of flowers  as you go in and the gardens, though wilting slightly, are still exuberant. There were a few hardy people sitting outside eating scones too. The blue and white, with quite a lot of imagination, could almost be Greek. A treasured place in the village.
I don't get much wander lust these days but I've never been to Delphi or Delos and I wouldn't mind sitting in some taverna on a small island somewhere, close to the sea, eating a Greek salad with tzatziki and sipping a glass of retsina, the odd Mycenaean ruin nearby and the sun gently setting.
