Feathered Angler

I headed over to Frensham Little Pond for a walk today - though the ice cream purchased from the café near the car park and consumed looking over the water probably negated any health benefits!

As I finished off my treat there was a flap of wings and a grey heron landed in the water just in front of me.  It then proceeded to work its way up and down the shoreline fishing as it went (extra). I suspect it was more successful than the human anglers which now have designated spots around the pond.

It mostly ignored other walkers, but every now and then decided they  were too close and flew to another spot, which was when I got this shot. The focus is not great (thank goodness for sharpening software), but it sums up a good encounter for the day.
