Arrived in Fuerteventura

After a very early start we caught the 05.45 plane from Edinburgh to Fuerteventura- a holiday we have been so looking forward to after a fairly miserable Scottish summer so far.

This is our 5th trip here and we have never encountered rain - in fact the island relies on desalinated sea water with an annual rainfall that can be as low as 100 mm. We arrived in rain and by late afternoon the island’s water supply may have been boosted - the big difference is that this rain is warm !

The blip shows that the lady in the apartment next to ours collecting the rain dripping from above in a bucket.

The forecast for tomorrow is sunshine and 27 C all day !
