A Seaside Town

The seaside town of Sidmouth in East Devon is well known for it's red cliffs, the folk festival which is held in the first week of August, and it's popularity as a fashionable resort in the Georgian and Victorian periods of the 18th and 19th century.
This was the view today looking east towards the chalk cliffs of Beer Head. The stretch of coast seen here is part of the Jurrasic Coast. though I think some of the red cliifs date from the Triassic period. Having spent some time here and in the surrounding area during my childhood I have mixed feelings about the place. There are perhaps too many ghosts here now to make it somewhere where I feel at ease.
