Serendipity

Not mine!

And if you view large you'll see why I quickly note that it's not my bike.

Popped to the bike shop at lunchtime to collect new brake pads for Malcolm the Multicharger (my E-bike for those new here). Yes, I know these things can be bought so much cheaper on Amazon but the local bike shop is an institution and really has to be supported. Plus, where's the fun in next day delivery when you can go in and have a good old chat?

Back to the snap, sorry I got distracted, just look at the state of that drivetrain! It caught my eye as the back wheel was grubby but the rest of the bike not, that's because all the muck was the poor old chain evaporating as rust.

As for Malcolm, new brake pads fitted and we are good for another 5,000 miles; this is the third set in 10,000 miles. I also asked about the drive belt (no chain) and when that is likely to need replacing, good for 20,000 miles apparently, so no need to worry just yet. My knees have been informed of this information and they report back in the affirmative!
