Last day
We’re heading back to Newcastle for disembarkation, so our last day is a sea day, which is always fun and relaxing.
A traditional cruising tradition which has largely died out, apart from on a few British cruise lines, is the Baked Alaska Parade. This is when the waiting and galley staff parade all through the restaurant with a flaming Baked Alaska dessert while the diners cheer and wave their napkins. It’s usually on the penultimate evening, as people are too busy packing on the last night, so my blip is from last night.
Yes, it’s weird and totally eccentric, but hey, it’s fun.
The extra is of Martin, who had a few lines to recite in this afternoon’s murder mystery ‘Theatre at Sea’ production, ‘Double Trouble’, which was tremendous fun.
So, back in Newcastle at 7am tomorrow, followed by a coach trip (laid on by the cruise line) back to Leith to pick up the car before the six-mile drive home.
We have had a brilliant cruise with Ambassador - so much so that we have booked another one for next August.
I hope you have enjoyed Tuesday.
