The Reverend Adam Buddle?

Adam Buddle a rector and botanist, inspired the generic name of the buddleia about 300 years ago. A couple of years ago it was one of the plants that C had to learn for her RHS assessment.

I was interested to read that after the second world war it was given the name of the 'bombsite plant.' it always astonishes me the places they grow! This lovely specimen has chosen the front garden of where we are staying in Edinburgh to attract butterflies...
