9 TIGERS
(Tiger Moths) flying in superb formation at Stowe Maries Great War aerodrome today. Stow Maries is a WW1 military aviation museum based at an aerodrome in Maldon, Essex. Of course Mr HB was in his element with the added bonus of having a lot of his lovely family with him.
Mr HB’s youngest granddaughter C (28) together with her really nice boyfriend C, picked us up from our campsite and drove us 40 odd miles to the air show. Little did we know that following behind us for the whole journey was her brother J and girlfriend E. Another lovely surprise for Mr HB.
Armed with chairs, blankets and picnics we settled down just behind the flight line and enjoyed every minute of this wonderful little vintage air show with a younger generation of aviation enthusiasts. Mr HB was fuelling them with a lot of info!
Late back to base and after goodbyes we settled down to a last quiet night. It has been a really lovely week here in Essex with some of Mr HB’s family and with perfect weather.
Extra: Grandad, grandchildren, Partners, and me!
