We went on a belated birthday outing with our sons. We picked them up and drove to nearby Kilmersdon where we walked up the hill (no, not that hill, just a hill through a field that has a signed footpath) and onto a Sustrans route that runs on an old disused railway line. The views are lovely. One set of lines is still in place, as are some of the bridges.
Afterwards we walked through the village and looked at some of the interesting architectural features, such as the bell on the side of a Charity School. We also saw the signs to the hill that Kilmersdon is rather more famous for.
Then it was back to our sons' place where they cooked us a delicious dinner of monkfish tails, roasted potato cubes and a huge salad.
