The old Cornhouse
“The Corn House, Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury
The Corn House, originally built around the 1850s as a grain store and residence for a corn merchant named Matthews; it has an iron frame, presumably in a similar style to that pioneered in Shrewsbury's much more famous : Ditherington Flax Mill, 1990 and was Grade II listed in 1984. The name of the restaurant 'House of Grain' pays respect to its former use.
