Let there be Light

This red full super moon moon last night, red because of the ash in the atmosphere from the fires in North America, was competing from my vantage point with the lights from the oil terminal in Flotta in the distance, the light from the Graemsay lighthouse and the very strong lights on the pole star pier near me. The channel markers in Hamnavoe are also visible in the blip to a lesser extent.

I was up with the lark this morning to get a lift to the slip and a swim at 6:45am before the rain and leaving lots of time to get to Kirkwall to meet Poppy  just after 10am. We were surprised to be accosted from behind by a man who turned out to be IainatCreelon his way to the dancing.while Poppy and I repaired to the Archive Coffee and spent a lovely time catching up and eating. Who knew that you could get a roll containing a poached egg on black pudding?

After lunch I walked along to visit EllyJay and her husband and we had a wonderful afternoon sorting out the world’s problems . It’s so easy for people like us to do that I don’t know why  it’s so difficult for the politicians.
Despite the rainy dreich day it’s been an extremely enjoyable one for me.
