Ruthin Memorial Fields Parkrun
SATURDAY
Blue skies and sunshine greeted me as I headed off to Ruthin for the Memorial Fields Parkrun. My result for today's event was 00:26:51, just two seconds off my personal best for this course.
Next weekend is a big one—not only will it be the Bank Holiday weekend, but it’s also time for my 100th parkrun! There will be also be a 48-hour relay on the Memorial Fields parkrun course, and while the rota is already full, they’re encouraging more runners to join. I’m tempted to do a stint.
The course runs directly in front of several residential properties, and as a retired EHO, I can’t help but wonder if there might be noise complaints from the continuous plodding of feet. It’s a three-lap course that loops back on itself around the houses, meaning that every five minutes, runners will pass by each bedroom window. Perhaps a “tip-toe” section should be considered!
After the parkrun, I stopped for some compost on the way home. The rest of the morning was spent hedge trimming and gardening.
I only managed to capture one photograph (for my Strava entry) today, but it sums up the morning.
