Dry as a bone

The ‘village fleuri’ appellation no longer holds good. No floral decorations are allowed and the fountains have not operated for at least two years. We have had rain but it has not been enough and has not come at the right times. I felt pretty ropey this morning having come down with laryngitis and a cold. I decided I would go to bell ringing and church but kept my distance as far as possible rather than just moping around at home. However, since I got back, I have only caught up with the sport and have no intention of doing anything else.
