On This Day In History
1920: 19th Amendment ratified thanks to one vote

Quote Of The Day
"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex."
(The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution)

Women did not have the right to vote in elections until 1920 in the U.S. That's disgraceful! In Great Britain women over the age of thirty had been voting since 1918! Women aged 21 and over won the right to vote in 1928. I guess it takes us men a certain amount of time to realise that the world does not revolve around us.

The world did revolve around me today, however. Well and truly pampered. Work starts tomorrow and I wanted to get my aching shoulders and various other limbs and joints fixed before going back, so I went to Kobe Sauna and Spa. I treated myself to a full body and facial massage which really did the trick; no neck or shoulder pain anymore. For lunch I had a Caesar Salad with cheese, a fruit salad with watermelon, black grapes, cherries, blueberries plus a slice of orange and a slice of grapefruit, plus a green smoothie containing apples, strawberries, bananas, yogurt and spinach. Delicious!

How do I feel now?

I Feel Good
