Interesting sky

This late afternoon photo taken to the west is a familiar sight for us. Christchurch is under cloud cover while the north west wind is pushing towards us and bright sunshine will appear as the sun disappears over the mountains. The dark clouds over the mountains reflect heavy rain on the West Coast which is also consistent with this weather pattern.
