Let them eat cake

Tea and cake this afternoon with M and C. We were all in need of this to help us deal with some news we've been trying to process for a number of weeks now. Each of us individually trying to work through it and none of us really managing. It was better with three I think. And the cake was good. I was torn between the rhubarb and custard and the "battenberg". I put that in inverted commas as  it was in the form of a round sponge cake with three layers - a pink sandwiched by two yellow. I went for the former though. And I'd already taken a bite by the time I thought to take a photo of it!
