Beauty is all around us.

A view of the garden

The Feast Day of Saint Rock. Died 1378. The time of the Black Death. He is depicted with a dog, in reference to the beautiful legend of a mysterious dog who is remembered for licking his wounds and bringing food to St. Rock who suffered from the plague, because he was miraculously helping to heal plague sufferers.

It is sunny now and pleasant.

The cats were outside earlier and Hunter encountered a squirrel on the garden fence. He chased the squirrel and they both disappeared out of my sight. Eventually, Hunter came in for his cat food. Holly is happy and brought a feather indoors, fascinated by the texture. It is under the conservatory table, until I clear it up.

I am hoping to listen and watch Holy Mass online. Then it will be lunchtime.

I hope you all find something good today. There is much misery and terrible news in and of the world. Prayers can open our eyes and hearts to ways God shows us. It sometimes increases our love for God and gives us a contrite heart. It can be a challenge to the ego, to let go of some harmful behaviour or foolish attachments.
