What Will We Do When the Sunflowers Fall?

These are very well observed flowers, since we spend so much time at the sink staring out the window. Every morning, every night, and lots of times in between, there they are, lighting up the back yard and making us happy with their smiling yellow faces. Who can resist a grinning sunflower? Fans will remember that these plants are ten or twelve feet high, so they fill a big space, in the yard and in our hearts. I’m sure there will be enough fallen seed to bring them back next year, always competing with the vegetables. They are actually quite useful as shade for the lettuce.
