One Step at a Time

Jigger

Erected at the end of Brownhills High Street, this sculpture by John McKenna pays homage to the coal miners of this area. There are certain non-photographic challenges with this subject not least of which is that it is located in the middle of a busy traffic island and the best shots are to be had from on said island. It's also tricky to shoot without bonus shots of Lidl, B&M and Tans R Us. For something of this size, there is an incredible amount of detail included and it must have taken many hours to construct. Look here for close-up detail of one of his boots.
