Mahler's Fifth
The Royal Albert Hall as it was filling up for Prom 5 - Symphony No 5 by Gustav Mahler. A fabulous performance. On the bus back to the hotel (a Number 10!) we found we were sitting near to two young cellists from the German orchestra. Somehow you don't expect orchestra members to be travelling away from a performance on a Number 10 bus. They didn't have their cellos with them!
Another very hot day in London. We had a lovely lunch with our daughter. We travelled on more buses - the Number 10 was favourite today!
We went to the Sebastiao Salgado exhibition at the Natural History Museum. This was excellent. A large collection of hauntingly beautiful, and often quite amazing, photographs; landscapes, wildlife and people from some of the wildest corners of the world.
Oh and we found Jessops on Oxford Street and bought two cameras - can't be bad!
