daily observations

One August night

I’ve just read this for SquatBetty’s book club. (Thanks,S, for keeping it going)
It was a really good read. The prompt for this month was Summer so this fitted the bill. I’ve read all Victoria Hislop’s books and they’ve all been good. This one is the sequel to the book about Spinalonga. It’s an island off Crete where they sent lepers to live. In this book the cure has been found and they can come home. I was at ICI when they made the chemical into a product suitable to cure it.
We took Lucy and Joe to Stockport. We’re buying Lucy a sewing machine for her 21st birthday. She’s doing a degree in digital art but wants to expand her area of expertise. I showed her how to use mine and  she’s borrowed it for a few weeks. She made a tote bag the first week she had it. It didn’t take her long to start making things. Norm took Joe to look at what he wanted for his birthday next month. It’s rained all day so at least we made good use of the time.
