Blessed Birthday!

It's my little boy's birthday today, and as you can probably guess, he's a Lego enthusiast!

He's also a keen Bible reader and will often sit quietly with his Children's Bible without any prompting or encouragement. He is fascinated by the wisdom and the history of our faith as Christians, and often surprises us with little gems of knowledge.

It is easy to take things for granted in this life, or to become distracted by the challenges it presents us, but today I thank the Lord for blessing me with such a funny, intelligent and faithful child.

Today I pray for God's hand to continue guiding him as he grows, and continues to guide me to be the father my boys need as they continue to flourish.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
