Coat of Arms

I just love this old coat of arms which hangs in the Town Council offices.  

This coat of arms was the Royal Coat of Arms that was in use between 1714 and 1801 when the union of the Irish and Westminster Parliaments necessitated a new coat of arms to be introduced.   This wooden panel is dated 1816, but if you look carefully, it is possible to see that this has been painted over an earlier date of 1754, which is still visible beneath it.
