Marjorie's ramblings

Little Langdale

After yesterday’s dampness, we were pleased to walk in bright sunshine today.

We had a mini bus ride to Glen Mary Bridge. This was disrupted by low flying jets on a training exercise. We thought the roof was coming off the bus!

We walked uphill to Tarn Hows, enjoying the tumbling stream and little waterfalls on the way. We then walked along one side of the tarn, including 10 minutes without talking. This did not work out perfectly because we kept meeting people who wanted to say Hello!

Our descent to Hodge Close Quarry and Little Langdale was through woods. The dappled light was exquisite.

I ended my walk at Skelwith Bridge and took the bus back to Grasmere.

The walk was not as tough as yesterday, but I thought it sensible not to overdo things.

The food here has been excellent and the level of chatter shows how well this large group has gelled.

The forecasters promise us wall to wall rain tomorrow so I’m taking the day off!

My blip was taken near Little Langdale where the view was set off by a neat line of washing.
