Book Club

I actually missed book club while I was  away but as I’ve not ret read  the book Empty Cradles I've volunteered to take the books back to the Library. It's quite an old book about the scandal of the misguided child migration schemes from the 1870s to the 1970s.  Where white "orphans" were sent from Britain and Ireland  to Empire countries to supply white settlers who would not complain. It makes  horrific reading 

The next book I've read before and will not bother to read again. A light summer read.but we need a light read after Empty Cradles. 

The cake is because we have visitors coming for the weekend.   

An emergency blip. I couldn't get into Kendal this afternoon because an air ambulance helicopter was blocking the roundabout. I thought it a bit ghoulish to take a photo because with 3 ambulances and a helicopter it must have been bad.
