Voyage of a Beagle & Lab

Lets Brighten Up the Garden!

I'm not entirely sure that when D said we needed to brighten up the garden he really had in mind a couple of pots of paint - pink and lavender, and a few strings of fairy light but he can't say that it isn't bright! Today I finished the task of turning anything in the garden that could be painted pink or lavender - I tried to get the lavender bench in this picture but it didn't work so here's just the lavender that grows beside the bench, I may be over the top bright but I am co-ordinated at all times. To be fair, it was D that spotted lilac and pink pots in the garden centre and thought they would be nice in a dull corner, unfortunately as Ky says, some people just don't know when to stop and I just ran with the new colour scheme!
Today was first day back at work after two weeks fantastic holiday, give me ten minutes and I'll have got a wee bit back blipping done of our adventures. The first week was spent in London, highlight for Josh - London Zoo and the komodo dragons, bonus, the actual ones that starred in Skyfall - it's a boy thing! For Ky - a trip to the Tower and a look at Liz's bling, I told her she would say wow and she did! Lots of pictures of the London Eye, Big Ben and the South Bank but we were staying at County Hall. A fantastic time was had by all, I just love wandering London and not having anywhere to rush to I even coped with the tube and the heat!
Last week we were in Oban for a few days. When I booked the cottage certain members of the family were less than encouraging but I told them the sun would shine and it would be fantastic - the sun shone and shone and we had a great time. The beagle behaved extraordinary well and proved that like all good sailors, while she can't swim she just loves being on a boat. I always say that if we could be guaranteed good weather I would never leave Scotland and last week showed why, the scenery was breath taking and while the sun was shining it really was the most beautiful place in the world. It's really very impressive when the weather isn't as good but it's hard to get up quite the same enthusiasm when you get soaked to the skin running from the car and your travel plans are thrown into disrepair because the ferries have been cancelled. It's still exactly where I would like to be, I would love a house with a sea view!
