On Duty!

At last work is beginning on the refurbishment of Pollok House. Vans in the car park, people going in and out of the front door and some scaffolding has been erected round the back.

Access to the parterre has been blocked off and this poor guy is the security officer and there he sits, on his own chair, in the rain, making sure that no one crosses to tape or pushes over one of the plastic barriers. I suppose the job is a necessary one but boredom must be an issue!

Before the heavy rain arrived I managed to get my irises cut back to half the stem height the job to be completed well into the autumn.
