Erddig
SUNDAY
This morning was warm and sunny, and the afternoon continued hot with a mix of cloud and sunshine.
I started the day by washing and polishing Harriet’s car, which was in desperate need of attention. It was so dirty that it required two washes and a wax polish to get it looking good again.
Around midday, we took two cars and headed to the National Trust site at Erddig, near Wrexham. During the drive, Harriet noticed that my brake lights were faulty, which was a bit concerning.
After we arrived, we enjoyed lunch and then explored the spectacular house, wandered through the beautifully restored formal gardens, and visited the “cup and saucer” cascade, which, unfortunately, looked a bit neglected.
Afterwards, we said our goodbyes to Harriet, who drove back home to Nottingham, while we returned to Tremeirchion.
This evening, I attempted to replace the two faulty brake light bulbs. Removing the rear light clusters was quite a hassle— the Torx 20 screws were easy to manage, there is an additional plastic fitting within the car bodywork that is difficult to reach. I managed to replace the offside bulb without much trouble, but the nearside one proved impossible.
In the end, I decided to book an appointment at Halfords for tomorrow, where they’ll charge me £20 to get it done.
