Under the Sea
I am currently visiting California and had the pleasure of going on a submarine adventure in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Catalina Island.
Visiting a kelp forest and its inhabitants was eye opening to the importance of preserving the ocean home of all marine life. Most of the coastal waters in this region are protected from fishing, and extreme efforts go into keeping the water clean of plastics and other debris.
The reason this kelp is yellow is because it’s the end of their life cycle. The little balls on the fronds collect sunlight and help the kelp grow up to 2 feet a day in season.
I love California and exploring this beautiful and diverse State.
