580m above

Our last day so Elbows and SkyeMan packed in the planning.

Elbows and I got up early to get a final swim in with the fish. So so beautiful and unforgettable. I think this’ll be one of the main highlights of the holiday for both of us.

Then all of us set off was a wander around Câmara de Lobos, which had a festival starting in the evening and the town was decorated with recycled materials. I’ll add extras because it all looked brilliant.

Then a stop off at another town I can’t remember where we spilt up to do different things. Not a great successful stop I have to admit. We didn’t stay long before heading off to stand on top of the highest cliff in …. Ummm … anyway, it was high. We stood 580m above a vertical drop down to the sea. Awesome. Really.

Then a drive down (these drives up and down are not easy - I feel like I’m getting adrenalin fatigue - like how a second day at Alton Towers brings on - and I’m not even driving).

And we headed towards a natural car wash/waterfall over the road. That was crazy.

Then to another sandy beach for a short final sea stop. Some went in. Some didn’t. It was a different part of the island - packed and younger. Didn’t overly like it. Water wasn’t as clean or clear either.

Home eventually. Late. Did some packing whilst taking turns showering and headed out for a final evening meal in the place WelshMan and Dot.T recommended because they loved it so much. It was very special.

Elbows and I had walked there and back so that was a nice breather before the final push to pack and clear.

Extras ….
