Honeycomb

It was a lovely hot day today, a chance to see if there was any honey to harvest.
The first hive was disappointed, although busy with bees they didn’t have anything to spare.
The second hive had two ‘supers’ and between them I collected twelve frames.
The third hive also had a few frames ready. And the fourth hive was the swarm from the care home. They had all new wax foundation when they started, which expends a lot of honey to make into comb. I had hoped there might be a lovely capped frame for the show in November, but they still were there.
Anyway we have a little honey which Gill is going to help me extract tomorrow!
