Sky Garden
As a follow on to yesterday's anniversary celebrations, we left our hotel this morning to go to the "Sky Garden" which is at the top of 20 Fenchurch Street, the building probably better known as the Walkie-Talkie because of it's shape.
I think I had imagined a rather more extensive garden, but it was very pleasant. The visit to the Sky Garden was free, breakfast at the Darwin Brasserie above the viewing floor was not. The price reflected the special location but it was very good food with excellent service in an enjoyable environment.
The interior of the building may look OK, but the exterior of the building is, in my view, monstrous and overbearing, leaning over and dominating the surrounding area. It is no surprise to me that it was awarded the Carbuncle Cup in 2015.
Back home this afternoon - despite the fact that there were no trains running from Kings Cross. We had to take a roundabout route via St Albans and a local bus. It worked surprisingly well, though.
