Not Waving But Drowning

The U3A Digital Photo Group that I belong to sets us a challenge every month.  One of those monthly challenges every year is called 'Edit That Photo'.  We are provided with a number of pre-existing images from which to choose six to edit ourselves.  They are usually fairly dull photos, really just record shots, so it's always quite a challenge.  Members let their imaginations take over and the results are often rather amusing.  Images added from our own photos or from the internet are also allowed.

The two original photos supplied, that I've used to create the above image, are in extras.  I decided to add a twirl effect to the tiled floor photo to create a whirlpool and then added the top half of the blue bear statue from the other photo.

The resulting blipfoto  is my interpretation of the poem 'Not Waving but Drowning' (apologies to Stevie Smith).  I have attached a link to this, her most well-known poem, below.
