24 hour Tesco, who art in Gala,
hallowed be thy chain.
Thy store has come,
Our shopping done,
In the Borders as it is in Edinburgh
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forsake our local grocers,
as we salve our consciences with your school vouchers.
And lead us not into sustainability,
but deliver for a fiver.
For thine is the income, the power and the multi-storey. for ever and ever. Amen

Abandon hope all ye who enter here...

It feels more like an airport than a grocer's. I spent an interesting time wandering about outside this new cathedral of convenience and its neighbour, the equally gargantuan ASDA. Raised a few eyebrows and questions with my interest in the 21st century signage and stark graphics, but this is one of the first shots I took.

Long gone are the days when the church spire was what pointed the way to heaven.
